About The Founder

 Hi I'm Tasha (Tahindri)

Since I was 3 months old and still to this day, 27 years later, I live with chronic Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis) which covers the majority of my body. My Eczema was particularly severe in my younger years when I’d experienced regular skin infections and had to be hospitalised. I’ve tried Chinese, Homoeopathic and Ayurvedic medicines, all of which unfortunately did not seem to help my condition significantly. The topical steroids prescribed too just made my Eczema worse.

Despite my highly irritable and allergy-prone skin, makeup played an important role in my life. I loved experimenting with different looks and having fun applying cosmetics for that added boost of confidence and individuality. Especially during times when I had experiences skin flare-ups, attending job interviews or generally interacting with new people was difficult for I was very self-conscious about my skin. For several years, I struggled to find a brand of cosmetics that did not irritate or flare up my skin.

I wanted to create a brand of cosmetics for men and women, especially those with problematic skin, to look and feel their very best.

Through many years of searching and experimentation, I discovered the benefits of mineral makeup. However, the mineral cosmetics available still contained irritants! This motivated me to create a brand of pure mineral cosmetics that would embody, be gentle and loving towards our challenging skin. It was also very important to me to be vegan, cruelty-free, honest and transparent.

It's been quite a long journey to finally get to where I’ve wanted to be, launching T Minerals. I graduated from the University of Kent with a degree in Economics in 2017. After graduating I worked as a CRM marketing executive for over three years in the automotive and financial services industries just outside of London. Due to the stress and pressures of my new graduate job I’d experienced many skin flare-ups. Because I was self-conscious to appear for work I would take sick days off, just to avoid my managers and colleagues from noticing my skin. This is what sparked my idea in creating my makeup line, makeup that I could confidently apply to cover my intense redness and flare-ups. Most importantly makeup won’t cause my skin to flare up the very next day and further aggravate my already irritated skin. Every day after work, I would come home and research about types of makeup that work best for hypersensitive eczema-prone skin and their ingredients.

In 2021 I was selected to take part in MAC’s Tomorrow’s Artist Program, a program created to empower the next generation of upcoming makeup artists. It was designed to create a more diverse representation of free-lance makeup artists of colour. I had the most insightful and incredible learning experience from some of the best makeup artists in the industry. I was taught by Dominic Skinner (BBC Glow Up judge and MAC senior Global Makeup Artist), Terry Barber (Director of Makeup Artistry at MAC) and Teresa Reynolds (Celebrity & TV/Film MUA, she is also the founder of IBY social enterprise). On the Tomorrow Artist's Programme, I learnt everything from skincare, identifying skin issues, colour theory, makeup hygiene, glam makeup, bridal, red carpet makeup and many more. From here, I gained work experience on the set of Bridgeton Season 2 and was hired to assist with makeup on BBC’s comedy show Ladhood Season 3. I was able these new learning skills and apply them to T Minerals.
